Women's Basketball Announces 2003-04 Schedule
Six non-conference postseason teams and two home tournaments highlight the 2003-04 University of Oregon women's basketball schedule, coach Bev Smith announced. The Ducks open the regular season against 2003 NCAA Tournament qualifier Valparaiso in the Women's Sports Foundation Classic Nov. 15-16 at McArthur Court. The winner of that game would play either LSU or Villanova, both NCAA Tournament participants as well. (more)

Women's Basketball Player Selected to Canadian Pan American Team
University of Oregon women's basketball player Carolyn Ganes was one of 12 Canadian women selected to compete in the Pan American Games Aug. 1-9 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Ganes becomes the first Duck player in the Pan Am Games in 24 years (1979) when current Oregon coach Bev Smith and teammate Alison Lang represented Canada. (more)

Women's Basketball Adds Another Duck to Coaching Staff
The University of Oregon women's basketball team hired Eugene native and former Duck player Peg Swadener as an assistant coach Thursday. She will begin her appointment July 1. A 1994 graduate of Oregon and 1989 graduate of Eugene's Marist High School, she spent the past season as the top assistant at Idaho State. Before that, she was an assistant coach at Boise State for five years. (more)

Women's Basketball's Taylor to Transfer to Seattle Pacific
University of Oregon sophomore guard Amy Taylor (Shoreline, Wash./Shorewood HS) will transfer to Seattle Pacific University, a Division II school, to pursue her athletic and academic career next season. (more)

Women's Basketball Adds Two More to Recruiting Class
The University of Oregon women's basketball team signed two more players to national letters of intent. Cicely Oaks, a 5-foot-7 guard at Grant High School in Portland, Ore., and Eleanor Haring, a 6-foot-1 forward from Mullaloo, West Australia, will join the Ducks for the 2003-04 season. (more)

Muscatell Accepts Head Coaching Position at Sacramento State
Sacramento State Athletics Director Dr. Terry Wanless announced the hiring of former University of Oregon assistant coach Dan Muscatell to the position of head women's basketball coach Tuesday. Muscatell, who spent the past four seasons at Oregon (1999-03), becomes the sixth women's basketball head coach in the program's 38-year history. (more)

The website, www.womenscollegehoops.com, selected University of Oregon freshman center Carolyn Ganes to the Honorable Mention Freshman All-American team Tuesday. She was one of 27 freshmen honored from around the nation. (more)

The University of Oregon women's basketball team honored four players at its annual postseason banquet Friday evening at McArthur Court. The event, attended by about 400 guests, was held on the McArthur Court floor in conjunction with the 25th year of the women competing in the historic arena. (more)

Shreve Leads Three Women's Basketball Players on All-Academic Pac-10
University of Oregon women's basketball players Kourtney Shreve, Cathrine Kraayeveld and Amy Taylor each earned Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic team honors, commissioner Tom Hansen announced Thursday. Shreve, a senior from Albany, Ore., was selected to the Second Team with her 3.45 cumulative grade-point average. (more)
